Koji Nakamura (b. 2001, Shimosuwa, Nagano Prefecture) is a Japanese artist working across sculpture, installation, and intermedia practices. He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2025, where he studied Intermedia Art in the Faculty of Fine Arts. His exhibitions in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka often transform everyday spaces—from bars and movie theaters to galleries and warehouses—into stages for humorous yet emotionally charged characters.
Koji Nakamura (born 2001 in Shimosuwa, Nagano Prefecture) graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Intermedia Art, in 2025. Working in sculpture, installation, and drawing, he often uses toy-related imagery and everyday materials to construct character-like forms that feel at once humorous, awkward, and tender. Since 2023 he has presented his work in a range of contexts, including former movie theaters in Nippori (“Another Day Another Dollar”, “Trace the Island and Become a Star”), galleries and project spaces such as TWIY gallery in Osaka, CEKAI O!K STORE & SPACE in Ikejiri-Ohashi, OTOE in Jingumae, soco1010 in Senju-Ohashi, and BankART Station in Yokohama. In 2025 he participated in the “73rd Tokyo University of the Arts Graduation Exhibition” at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, and in 2026 he will hold a solo exhibition at Nick White in Omotesando, Tokyo.
